Nathan Allen, Jr. is a founding member of Jones, Allen & Fuquay, L.L.P. He officially retired in December 2022. He helped develop the business focus of the firm and personally helped develop the firm's aggressive, yet prudent, reputation in business litigation.
Nathan was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1940. After high school he attended Centenary College in Shreveport, where he majored in history and government. Nathan received his LL.B. from the University of Houston where he was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. In 1966 he was admitted to the Texas State Bar. He was admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, in 1967. Also, in 1967 he was admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals 5th Circuit.
Nathan has had a major influence on the direction of Jones, Allen & Fuquay, L.L.P. and on the Dallas, Texas legal community, serving as Chairman of the Prosecution Committee from 1980 through 1985, and sitting on the Sixth District Grievance Committee. In addition to his heavy litigation focus, he handled a wide range of issues for various regional and local commercial banks in addition to certain individually owned car dealerships. Nathan has also handled a variety of construction law matters for numerous clients including Baker Triangle, one of the largest wall and ceiling contractors in the nation.
