Charles S. Fuquay was formerly a partner with Jones, Allen & Fuquay, L.L.P., and is now Of Counsel to the firm.  Mr. Fuquay joined the firm in 1981 and was head of the estate planning and probate practice until he retired in 2022.  He has significant experience handling the estate planning needs of individuals and private business owners. Mr. Fuquay is adept at minimizing federal estate taxes using wills, gifts, trusts, family partnerships, and marital property agreements. Mr. Fuquay has also assisted clients in philanthropic transactions and has received the Baylor Philanthropic Advisor Award from the Baylor University Medical Center Foundation. He has helped numerous clients develop appropriate business succession plans, including recapitalizations and buy-sell agreements. Mr. Fuquay also has handled legal matters involving banking and finance, contracts, real estate, and business litigation.

Mr. Fuquay has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1973. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

A Texas native, Mr. Fuquay earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in economics. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1973. After law school, he worked for the Dallas Legal Aid Society.


Mr. Fuquay has served multiple terms as Elder of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, is a trustee of the Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church Foundation, has taught real estate law in the Dallas County Community College District, and tutored in the McShan Elementary Refugee English Literacy Program. He is a Civil War and World War II history enthusiast. Mr. Fuquay and his wife, Kathryn, have two sons and six grandchildren, all in the Dallas area.
